The French Riviera — Antibes, La Ciotat, Cannes & Monaco

The French Riviera forms one of the most important superyacht corridors in the world. Stretching from La Ciotat in the west to Monaco and the Italian border in the east, the region is home to some of the Mediterranean’s most capable refit infrastructure, the most prestigious yacht events in the calendar, and a concentration of owners, captains, and industry professionals that is unmatched anywhere in Europe outside Palma de Mallorca.

At the heart of the region’s refit capability is MB92 La Ciotat — one of Europe’s most respected superyacht refit yards. Ideally located in the South of France, MB92 La Ciotat handles refits on yachts from 30 to 220 metres, with La Grande Forme dry dock spanning 200 metres by 60 metres and hardstanding capacity for vessels up to 115 metres LOA. A 4,300-tonne shiplift — the first of its kind in France — gives the yard the ability to haul vessels of exceptional size. MB92 La Ciotat’s reputation for technical excellence, timely delivery, and client service has made it a first-choice refit destination for owners across Europe and beyond. Unique Yacht Wrapping has an established working relationship with MB92 La Ciotat, having completed numerous projects within their yard as part of integrated refit programmes.

In Antibes, Port Vauban — the largest marina in the western Mediterranean with around 1,500 berths — accommodates superyachts up to 140 metres on long-term lease. The €135 million Project Vauban redevelopment is further strengthening the port’s infrastructure and cementing its position as the Riviera’s premier superyacht homeport. Monaco Marine’s Antibes shipyard, with a 300-ton travel lift, 16,000 square metres of facilities, and a specialist team of 30 professionals, provides first-class refit and maintenance capability directly within the port.

Between Cannes and Antibes, MB92 Golfe-Juan — recently reopened following a €5 million upgrade — adds further refit capacity to the central Riviera corridor. In Cannes, the Cannes Yachting Festival — held each September — is one of the most important yacht shows in the European calendar, bringing hundreds of vessels and thousands of industry professionals to the city’s waterfront. And in Monaco, the Monaco Yacht Show in late September is arguably the most prestigious superyacht event in the world, attracting the largest privately owned vessels and the highest concentration of serious buyers of any show in the annual calendar.

The French Riviera season runs from April through October, with October to April representing the winter lay-up and refit period when yards are at their busiest and when the majority of vinyl wrapping and surface protection work is scheduled. Our team is active across the region year-round.

Our services on the French Riviera

Exterior yacht wrapping

A full hull and superstructure wrap completed in days — typically 3 days for an 80-foot vessel and 8–12 days for a 30–60m superyacht. We work within MB92 La Ciotat’s yard schedules and alongside vessels at Port Vauban, Monaco Marine Antibes, MB92 Golfe-Juan, and all French Riviera marinas and facilities. Our exterior wrapping service covers full colour changes, partial wraps, superstructure-only applications, and custom graphics — using cast vinyl from 3M and Avery Dennison in any finish: gloss, satin, matte, metallic, or colour-shift.

Interior vinyl wrapping

The French Riviera’s winter refit season — October through April — is the most productive window for interior vinyl refresh work. Using 3M DI-NOC architectural vinyl in over 700 textures and finishes, we transform panels, furniture, cabinetry, doors, overhead linings, and fixtures without removal or mess. Work can be completed section by section, allowing the vessel to remain operational throughout. For charter yachts completing a Mediterranean season and preparing for the following year, an interior refresh at MB92 La Ciotat or Port Vauban is an efficient use of the winter lay-up window.

Paint protection film (PPF)

The Mediterranean sun, salt air, and physical demands of a full charter season make PPF a sound investment for any vessel operating on the French Riviera. Self-healing PPF applied to anchor pockets, bow areas, rubbing strakes, swim platforms, handrails, and window surrounds protects against the contact damage that charter and event season use inevitably produces — and eliminates the recurring maintenance cost of touch-up painting. We recommend PPF as a standard finishing step at the end of any refit programme, particularly for vessels returning to active charter service.

Pre-show preparation — Cannes & Monaco

The Cannes Yachting Festival in September and the Monaco Yacht Show in late September represent the most commercially important two weeks in the European yacht calendar. Vessels need to be in immaculate condition for display, charter marketing, and sale. A colour wrap refresh, PPF application, or interior vinyl update in the weeks before the shows can transform a vessel’s presentation and directly influence charter rates and sale negotiations. We are experienced in working to tight pre-show timelines on the French Riviera and understand the standard expected at two of the world’s most demanding yacht events.

Frequently asked questions about yacht wrapping on the French Riviera

  • Do you operate on the French Riviera year-round?

Yes — Unique Yacht Wrapping operates year-round on the French Riviera. We are active during the summer charter season (April–October) and throughout the winter refit season (October–April), when vessels are in the yards for scheduled maintenance and finishing work. We can mobilise quickly across all French Riviera locations — Antibes, La Ciotat, Cannes, and Monaco.

  • Do you work at MB92 La Ciotat?

Yes — we have an established working relationship with MB92 La Ciotat and have completed numerous projects within their yard as part of integrated refit programmes. We are familiar with MB92’s project management structure and safety protocols, and can coordinate directly with their team to integrate vinyl wrapping and PPF services into your refit programme. If you are planning a refit at MB92 La Ciotat, we would recommend raising the possibility of vinyl wrapping or PPF early in the planning stage.

  • Which other yards and marinas do you work with on the French Riviera?

In addition to MB92 La Ciotat, we work across Port Vauban in Antibes, Monaco Marine Antibes, MB92 Golfe-Juan between Cannes and Antibes, and alongside vessels at all French Riviera marinas including Monaco and Cannes. We are experienced in the operational requirements of each facility and work within their specific safety and contractor protocols.

  • Can you complete a wrap before the Cannes or Monaco shows?

Yes — pre-show preparation is one of the most time-sensitive services we provide on the French Riviera. A full exterior wrap on a 30–60m vessel takes 8–12 days. We recommend contacting us at least 3–4 weeks before your target completion date to ensure availability. Both the Cannes Yachting Festival and the Monaco Yacht Show are important events in our calendar and we plan our French Riviera availability accordingly.

  • What is the best time of year to schedule wrapping work on the French Riviera?

The winter refit season — October through April — is the most popular window for exterior wrapping and interior finishing work on the French Riviera, when vessels are already in the yards and operational disruption is minimal. Pre-show windows in August and early September are also popular for vessels preparing for Cannes and Monaco. We operate year-round and can accommodate projects at any point in the calendar.

  • Can you work alongside other contractors in a refit programme?

Yes — we are experienced in multi-contractor refit environments and have worked extensively within MB92 La Ciotat’s integrated project management structure. We coordinate directly with yard project managers, other specialist contractors, and owner representatives to ensure vinyl wrapping and PPF work is sequenced and delivered without disrupting the wider refit programme.

  • How do I get a quote for a project on the French Riviera?

Contact us via our quote request page with details of your vessel — name, length, type, and the services you are considering. We will respond promptly with an initial assessment and can arrange an in-person survey at MB92 La Ciotat, Port Vauban, or any French Riviera location to provide a detailed, fixed quotation.
